The sun-kissed island of Malta is a treasure trove of beautiful beaches, crystal blue seas, and centuries of history, all topped off with that chilled out Mediterranean vibe.

Get ready to discover everything this little island with a big personality has to offer! Students stay at Campus Hub, a modern residence located just a short journey by private bus from St Martin’s College.

These newly built premises are designed and styled perfectly for students and feature a list of amenities that will help students’ study-life balance.

With a variety of food and shopping outlets, a swimming pool and student common areas to relax in, the Campus Hub is a fantastic option for students looking for a more campus style feel to their summer school experience.

Living

  • Located within a 10-minute private bus journey from the school
  • Twin or triple rooms with shared bathroom
  • Room furniture includes a wardrobe, bedside table, drawers, desk, chair, and air conditioner
  • Study room and common spaces with lounge area, kitchen and TV
  • Bedrooms are cleaned once a week
  • Laundry available on site at an additional cost
  • Bed linen is provided and changed once a week
  • Bath towels are provided and changed once a week, students should bring their own beach towel
  • Dinner and breakfast served on Campus, lunch served at school or activity (with packed lunches on weekends)
  • Students will be required to pay a refundable damage deposit of €30 (by cash)

Dining & facilities

Breakfast

Continental breakfast available including juice, tea, coffee, toast, jams, cereal, pastries and fruit or similar.

 

Lunch

Served at school or on activity, lunch consists of one hot or cold dish.
Packed lunches are provided at weekends that will consist of a sandwich, water and fruit.

Evening Meal

Buffet option.

Learning

  • Taught by friendly and professional English teachers
  • 20 x 45 minute lessons per week morning or afternoon
  • Placement test on day 1 to ensure students in appropriate level
  • Maximum 17 students per class
  • Students will be placed in an international class with students of different nationalities
  • Spacious modern classrooms with interactive whiteboards
  • Curriculum with emphasis on communication skills
  • Materials included as well as and end of course report and certificate

Programme

Arrival

Students will be welcomed upon arrival to the residence where they will register and get their room keys so that they can check in to their rooms.

Welcome

On the first evening there will be a welcome activity which is designed to ensure students have the opportunity to meet staff and other students and get to know more about the centre, its facilities and useful information which will help them during their stay.

First day

 

Once at school, students will attend an induction session delivered by an Embassy Summer staff member, which lasts approximately 30 minutes. They will then take a one-hour placement test that assesses their grammar, vocabulary, reading, writing and speaking.

Students are tested so they can be placed in the best class for their English level. Students will receive their Welcome Pack on the first day of school.

Activities

Activities are organised on days when there are no trips and during the evenings, these activities take place either on-site or near the centre. These may include:

  • Sports such as football, mini Olympics, rounders, table tennis, volleyball and basketball
  • Daytime activities such as scavenger hunts and drama workshops
  • Evening activities such as karaoke, talent show and team games

Excursions and Trips

Full-day Excursions
Our students get to visit get to explore the most beautiful beaches around Malta.

Half – day Excursions
Our students get to explore exciting places around Malta such as Valletta, Mdina, Marsaxlokk and go on a harbour cruise.

Gozo: Full-day excursions to Malta’s smaller sister island, full of centuries of history and lots to explore.

Sicily: Full-day excursion to the beautiful Italian island of Sicily, filled with gorgeous landscapes and a mix of cultures.

3 Week Sample Programmes

Extra

The programme starts on a Sunday and it includes the full 7 days of the week.
Students will take part of lessons, have lunch at the centre and go on activities and excursions with the rest of the students. Below is a sample of the full summer programme.
