Our centre is located at Royal Holloway University of London near the town of Egham in Outer London, surrounded by beautiful countryside and only 5 miles from Royal Windsor.

The campus is closed and secure, ideal for younger students and offers a mix of single en-suite and standard rooms, as well as a large activity room for communal use.

Living

  • Single en-suite and single standard rooms available with shared bathroom ratio of around 1:5 students
  • Washbasins in all standard rooms
  • Room furniture includes a wardrobe, desk and chair
  • Rooms are cleaned weekly
  • Shared student bathrooms cleaned daily
  • Laundry available on-site, £2.80 per wash and £1.30 to dry
  • Meals are served in a large dining hall
  • Our spacious Activity Club is opened daily until 22.30 with sofas, TV and games for students. There are also benches outside in an enclosed green courtyard for socialising.
  • Wi-Fi is available across all areas

Dining & facilities

Royal Holloway is a nut free centre and no foods/snacks with nuts are allowed, very safe for students with allergies.

Breakfast

Breakfast consists of 3 days with English Breakfast and 4 days with Continental Breakfast per week.

Lunch

Lunch includes a choice of 3 hot meals (one vegetarian) with salad bar, fruit, dessert and bread roll.
Packed lunches (on weekends): sandwich, water, crisps, fruit and cake.

Evening Meal

Dinner includes a choice of 3 hot meals (one vegetarian) with salad bar, fruit, dessert and bread roll.

Snacks

Vending machines offer drinks and snacks.

Learning

  • Taught by friendly and professional English teachers
  • 20 x 45 minute lessons per week morning or afternoon
  • Placement test on day 1 to ensure students in appropriate level
  • Maximum 17 students per class
  • Students will be placed in an international class with students of different nationalities

  • Curriculum with emphasis on communication skills
  • Materials included as well as an end of course report and certificate

Programme

Arrival

Coaches arrive next to the canteen in the car park where groups are met by centre staff before being registered and checked into their rooms.

Welcome

On the first evening there will be a welcome activity which is designed to ensure students have the opportunity to meet staff and other students and get to know more about the campus, its facilities and useful information which will help them during their stay.

Activities

Activities are organised every Monday to Friday and every evening all week, for students not on a prepaid excursion or any additional optional trips. These activities could be on-site or near to the centre. These may include:

  • Sports such as football, mini Olympics, rounders, table tennis, volleyball and basketball
  • Daytime activities such as scavenger hunts and drama workshops
  • Evening activities such as karaoke, talent show and team games

Getting to and From School Activities

 

Our students travel by coach or train for all activities and excursions outside the centre.

Excursions and Trips

Our students get to explore exciting places such as Windsor Castle and Henley Upon Thames with River Cruise.

Students go on two full-day excursions every week. On Tuesdays or Wednesdays they will visit London and explore some of the following:

  • The Science Museum
  • The Natural History Museum
  • The National Gallery
  • Westminster Walking Tour
  • The British Museum
  • Oxford Street shopping
  • Hyde Park

On Saturdays students will visit some of the following:
visit this UNESCO World Heritage Site, one of the most visited cities in the UK with medieval buildings and enjoy the gothic architecture of Canterbury Cathedral.

  • Oxford: explore this iconic university city and visit one of its famous Colleges.
  • Brighton: enjoy this popular seaside town and visit the Sea Life Centre and the Palace Pier.
  • Cambridge: visit this charming university city with walking tour and visit to one of its famous colleges.

Thorpe Park: enjoy extreme rides and attractions at this popular theme park.

Portsmouth: visit HMS Victory at Portsmouth Historic Dockyards.

Hampton Court & Richmond upon Thames: beautiful castle next to the river with pretty gardens and visit to the town centre.

3 Week Sample Programmes

Extra

Each 14 night stay will include 2 half-day trips exciting places/cities such as Windsor Castle and Henley Upon Thames or Marlow, and 4 full-day excursions to other major cities such as London, Oxford and Brighton. Transport for trips may be by private coach or public transport.
